While we were on our vacation in Branson, MO we had a chance to eat at Mel’s Hard Luck Diner.  While I was there I got to meet Mel himself.

I asked Mel what he recommended and his first suggestion was the Sweet Sensations Salad  {Grilled chicken breast, almonds slivers, strawberries and mandarin oranges on a bed of fresh blended lettuce with raspberry vinaigrette dressing}.  Of course I had to order it “Mel’s Way” {Add pecans, cashews, and a banana}.  It was absolutely delicious! I never even knew I liked bananas on my salad.  All the different ingredients blended really well together.

Not only is this a great diner with awesome food, but ALL the waiters sing! Yes, every one of them. I was talking to our waitress and she said everyone has to audition to work there.  They all took turns singing songs and duets. It’s such a fun atmosphere for everyone in the family!

Not only did they have awesome food, service, and entertainment – they had amazing desserts! I ordered the root beer float and could only finish about a third of it.  It’s definitely something you can share.

Next time you’re in Branson, make sure to stop by and enjoy a meal at Mel’s!
