Key Lime Muddy Buddies

Key Lime Muddy Buddies St Patrick's Day #Recipe

Growing up my Mom always used to make Key Lime Pies.  We had a Key Lime and Lemon tree in our back yard and I remember getting so excited when we would pick them because my mom would have a key lime pie that evening for dessert.  In fact, every time I see key lime flavored anything I think of my mom.

With St Patrick’s day coming up I wanted a unique snack.  Muddy Buddies are huge here so I decided to combine both the FL (key lime) and IA (muddy buddies) in me for these tasty Key Lime Muddy Buddies. I love that they’re unique and so easy to make!

It only takes a few ingredients starting with 9 cups of Chex cereal.  I prefer the rice Chex and they’re gluten free.  Just pour them into a bowl and set them aside.

Next, in a small bowl, microwave 2 cups of white chocolate chips on high for a minute. Stir them and microwave again for about 45 seconds more or until melted and smooth when stirred. Pour the melted chocolate over cereal and stir until evenly coated.

Mix together one Key Lime Flavor Creation flavor packet (I like Duncan Hines) and 1 and 1/2 cups of powdered sugar in a small bowl.

Combine your coated chex mix with the  sugar mixture and in a large resealable plastic bag and shake until well-coated.  Spread onto a baking sheet to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator. Enjoy!
