What is a Truck Driver

A truck driver is a person who earns a living as the driver of a truck, but there’s more to it than that.

A truck driver often spends weeks at a time on the road. My husband and I would drive for 3 weeks at a time then take 3 days of home time off. We drove together so it wasn’t as bad, but that’s hard on you if your family is away.

Because we spent so much time on the boat we lived in our semi truck.  That’s not a negative, it was a super simple way of life.  I love having a house, but do miss it at times.

Sometimes truck drivers have to drive hours and hours.  We are able to drive 11 hours in a 14 hour day. There were times we drove all day then had to assist with unloading. Drivers work really hard.

They also have to be their own mechanics by checking the truck daily.  Driving 11 hrs a day you’re traveling over 700 miles! You want to make sure everything is in good shape before traveling 700 miles.

Drivers also have to through all sorts of weather to get deliveries on time.

After sharing all this I feel that being a truck driver is more like being a super hero.

After all, if you got it – a trucker brought it.
