Voicing Baymax from BIG HERO 6 at Disney Animation Studios
#BigHero6Event
Do you have a dream job? I have to admit my job now is pretty much a dream come true, but the ultimate job for me would be a cartoon character. Yes I realize that cartoons are just animated films voiced by humans, but I’ve always wanted to be that voice behind the cartoon character. Even when I was younger I wanted to be in cartoons. Growing up people always told me I had a unique voice and I’ve even done a few radio commercials. That was a long time ago. I also love to get on stage and perform. I’d still love to be a cartoon character.
Disney is where wishes come true and for me that happened this past week when I was in Los Angeles. I’ve been sharing with you that I had to opportunity to walk the red carpet for Big Hero 6 and even interviewed some of the stars from the movie. While we (myself and 24 other bloggers) were there we visited the Disney Animation Studios. While there I had the amazing opportunity to jump into the recording booth. It was so much fun!
I had such a great time getting to see behind the scenes. While you’re in the recording booth you have a screen that shows the animated clip you are voicing. You also hear a series of beeps. There are three beeps and where the fourth beep would be you start your line. You have a script on a movie stand and you read your lines into the microphone.
It was such a great experience and now I want to be in the recording booth even more! It really was a dream come true! Check out my “cartoon character” debut:
