The Best Bacon and Cheese Dip Recipe
I can hardly believe that I’ve been a Midwesterner for a year and a half already! On one hand it seems like just yesterday we packed up all our belongings and drove from South Florida, yet on the other hand it seems like I’ve always lived here. I think I’m so comfortable in my new home because of the people. I absolutely love Midwest hospitality. It’s just not the same in south FL. There are other things that were new – snow, leaves that change color, demolition derbys, 4H, and good food (different than the good food found in Florida). I have enjoyed all of them! One of the things I really enjoy is eating here. When I have get togethers everyone brings such yummy food. I’ve been working on my culinary skills for these get together occasions.
I really wanted to come up with a new dip to bring. What’s even more awesome is my dip takes only 4 ingredients.
I headed to Walmart with my Kraft coupons and picked up my ingredients. They were all on the outer aisle with the exception of the Mayo which I found with the other condiments.
I used 3/4 cup of the Kraft Shredded Three Cheeses with a touch of Philadelphia, 1 8 ounce tub of Philadelphia Chive & Onion Cream cheese spread, 1/3 cup Kraft Mayo, and 4 slices of cooked Oscar Mayer Bacon. The bacon is not pictured here because I already started cooking it.
While the bacon was cooking, I mixed together the other 3 ingredients and preheated the oven to 350 degrees. The really nice thing about the spread is that you do not have to let it soften so it mixed together very nicely.
Once the bacon was cooked and drained, I crumbled it and mixed it together in the cheese mix.
Spread it into a small greased pan and cook for 15 minutes.
After the 15 minutes remove from the oven and let it stand for 10 minutes. After the 10 minutes, mix and serve warm.
I topped mine with some of the shredded cheese and chives. I served it with corn chips, but really it goes well with anything including a spoon. Seriously I had to bring it over to a friend because I could have eaten the whole bowl by myself. It’s seriously delicious.
This is so good and I will definitely be bringing it to our next get together. What are your favorite foods to bring to get togethers and potlucks?
