My First Cupid’s Undie Run
So, I’m totally not a runner. As the Cupid’s Undie Run was approaching I was getting more and more nervous. I so was not looking forward to it. A one mile run outside when the high was 5 degrees? Um, no thank you. That was until I got there.
We met in Music Man Square and the energy was amazing! Everyone was so excited and they were playing music to get us pumped up. It was so much fun seeing everyone’s outfits.
We took some team selfies and hung out before the race. There were refreshments, drinks, pizza, and more being served before hand. By the time race time had I come I was totally ready for it!
We were lined up and ready to go!
See, I really did go and I really did run!!
I did start out jogging at a good pace and the cold temps really didn’t bother me that much. What did bother me was breathing the cold wind in and out. Next year I’ll wear a scarf and plan better for that.
I definitely wasn’t one of the first ones in, but I wasn’t last and I made it the whole way. I did have to walk the last part of it, but I’m so glad I did it and I can’t wait for next year.
That’s right, I’m totally running last year. Our team wants to run again too. After the inspiration from this year we’ll be making better costumes and starting our fund raising earlier.
Cupid’s Undie Run is a fundraiser for the Children’s Tumor Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding effective treatments for Neurofibromatosis(NF) through research. NF is a debilitating genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow all over the nervous system which can cause blindness, deafness, learning disabilities and severe chronic pain.
Have you ran in the Cupid’s Undie Run?
