Healthy Halloween Treats
I remember getting so excited for Halloween when I was younger. It was probably one of my favorite holidays because of all the candy. I trick or treated all the way through highschool and even my freshman year of college. I had to stop though because that last year it was pretty obvious I was too old by all the adults asking “aren’t you a little too old to be trick or treating?” I was able to start up again though when my sisters started having kids. I mean they need adults to walk around with right?
I had my middle school girls over yesterday and wanted some fun and “spooktacular” treats for them. After all I’ve been learning with Plan Z I don’t want to mess it up. I know that sugar is one of my weaknesses and if I don’t set myself up with healthy choices it will be very easy to make poor choices. That is why I came up with some healthier treats. They’re super simple too.
Spooktacular Apple Dentures:
Cut apple into slices and spread on peanut butter. Use yogurt covered raisins or almond slivers for teeth.
Spooky Eyes Deviled Eggs:
Make hard boiled eggs. Mix the yolks with a little bit of mayo and mustard – just enough for consistency. Scoop the yolk mixture back into the eggs. Sprinkle with paprika and top with a black olive.
The snacks went over really well with the kids and I enjoyed them too!
