Movie Review – Here
Here is a movie about multiple generations of couples and families that habit the same home over the course of a century.
The cinematography is beautiful and I love the entire concept. I was really excited to see this movies. I was also looking forward to seeing Tom Hanks and Robin Wright together again. I loved the two of them as Forrest Gump and Jenny. They did not disappoint. They’re great together!
If you go into the movie remembering that the movie is about a room in a house it makes more sense. Where I struggled is I was really getting into the individual story lines. I wanted to know more about them and I felt like I didn’t get enough and some cases I didn’t much of a story line at all. I also wasn’t fond of the jumping from time period to time period. It took me a bit to realize what was going on in each storyline.
I realize they were trying to take us on a journey through time and that’s difficult to do with the same actors. I feel like the AI age generation was unbelievable at times. It wasn’t believable that Hanks was 18 and when he got to 40 it seemed like they cranked up the age dial too much. Ricky (Hanks) and Jimmy (Harry Marcus) were brothers and didn’t age the same. At one point Ricky looked like he could have been Jimmy’s dad.
Overall it was good. I would not see it again in the theaters, but probably would see it again if it streams just to see if I missed anything knowing what’s going on now.
