Eating Chislic at the All Day Cafe
I had such a great time hanging out in Sioux Falls with some of my fellow North Iowa Bloggers, Cat Tales with Laura and Life on Skyview. We had so much fun exploring. We asked around for recommendations and everyone told us to try Chislic. I had never heard of it so when we went to dinner at the All Day Cafe we had to try some.
Chislic was house marinated sirloin tips served with bourbon bbq and kettle chips. It was okay. I’m glad I tried it but I thought the sirloin was chewy and salty. Still it was an experience.
It happened to be Oktoberfest while we were there so I ordered their sausages & bier. It was delicious – bier braised sausages, caramelized onions, sauerkraut, sweet bavarian mustard, braised red cabbage, and hot bacon potato salad. It was delicious.
They also had really good root beer!
Laura ordered the creme brûlée that she really liked.
Laura and I split the NY cheesecake and it was so good!
Have you ever tried chislic?

Can’t say I’ve ever tried chislic either! Interesting to learn about regional food traditions. I wonder if this got overcooked? The cheesecake looks delicious and homemade.
