Easter Bird Nests

Easter Bird Nests

I love holidays and I love holiday baking! This is a fun recipe that I’ve seen floating around Pinterest. I tried to find the original posts and over a dozen links going back to 2011 I realized that may be impossible to find. So, this is my version.

It’s easier than you’d think and takes only 4 ingredients!

Easter Bird Nests
  • 2 cups of mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 4 cups of chow mein noodles
  • your “eggs” – I used Cadbury mini eggs, but you can use jellybeans or anything else 🙂
Easter Bird Nests

First you melt your butter over medium high heat. Once it’s melted, dump in your marshmallows and melt them. Stir continuously so they don’t burn.

Easter Bird Nests

After your butter and marshmallow mixture is melted, pour it over the chow mein noodles and mix well so they are all coated.

Next you’re going to construct your nests by putting spoonfuls of the chow mein and marshmallow mixture into a cup cake tin. You just mold it to fit in the tin. I buttered my tin and found that spraying pam on it and my hands worked much better.  After you make your nests stick the pan in the freezer for an hour to let them set.

Easter Bird Nests

After the hour you just pop them out of the tin. I have found that a butter knife or fork work perfect to take them out.

Easter Bird Nests

Now for the fun! Fill up those nests with eggs!  They’re easy and adorable.

Enjoy!

You will need to also take into consideration any wedding jewelry or other
hair accessories such as bridal hair pins you are planning to wear.
You may already have some ideas and thoughts that you would like to feature
in the finished dress. The lip and eye makeup generally depends on the time and
palace of your wedding so you have to learn the appropriate makeup for different
    times and venues.

These nest eggs are so cute! I love when spring time comes along because that’s the only time of the year I can buy Cadbury mini eggs. They are so addicting!
