Who is The Healthy Pantry?
They are a small company making a big difference! Their mission is to provide out-of-this-world-delicious, healthy and affordable family meals in an effort to combat the growing trend of poor nutrition and diet in the United States.
By providing great-tasting dinners that can be prepared quickly at home, they are helping busy families enjoy the countless benefits of great nutrition!
They have 3 core beliefs:
- Home cooking can be easy!
- Healthful food can taste great!
- Eating well can be affordable!
I was able to sample 4 of their amazing kits. They are complete nutritious meals from mixes – in under 30 minutes! They are gluten free, all natural, and no added sugars. You can pair them with favorite proteins or vegetarian alternatives. They are family size portions that generously serve 5. They use organic and natural ingredients and have no added sugars, additives or preservatives.
Our favorite of all was the Cowboy Chili! All you had to do was add tomatoes. We also added ground meat. It is a vegetable medley featuring black and red beans, quinoa and a hint of cinnamon. It was so delicious and so easy to make!
We also really enjoyed the Tamale Pie. It’s a delicious crispy cornbread sits atop a medly of black beans, and tomatoes for a southwestern inspired comfort food. Again we added ground meat. It was so yummy!
The third one we tried was Cranberry Wild Rice. We added chicken to the meal. It is a delicious stew featuring the deep flavors of wild rice and mushrooms.
The last one was the Punjabi Curry. We also aded chicken to this one. Inspired by a very popular dish that originated in Panjab, India, this delicious yellow curry has relatively mild flavors, plump sweet raisins, coconut flakes, and hints of ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom.
We loved all of the meals! They couldn’t have been easier or tastier!
And the best part: the average price per serving of a finished meal is less than $2.00– half the cost of fast food!
